Introduction to Spiritual Practices

Do you find yourself wanting rhythms of life that nourish emotional, spiritual, and physical resource, but aren’t sure where to begin? Have you ever wanted to develop a spiritual practice, but didn’t know where to turn for guidance? In this 8-week introductory course, we’ll explore spiritual practices as accessible technologies of wisdom, connection, and creativity. Themes we’ll work with include breath/movement, prayer/connection, text/reflection, time/pace, ritual/space, dreams, pilgrimage, and ancestors.

We will work and play with various learning materials, which may include: weekly podcast/audio offerings, curated readings, practice suggestions, and regular Zoom gatherings. There will be opportunities to work with Esther one-on-one during and after the course.

This course welcomes those who have no experience with spiritual practice, those who are curious but don’t know where to begin, and those who may have previously established spiritual practices.

Suggested contribution: $100 ($12.50/week). Sliding scale and limited free spots available. Zoom gathering times TBD. Registration open through September 5, 2022.

Note on Course Fees

I devote a great deal of time and care to these offerings, which includes researching and recording material for our collective learning, curating reading selections, and offering space for group and individual processing. The suggested contribution reflects an amount that I feel honors the labor I put into this process. (The suggested contribution may increase in the future.)

Sliding Scale

Free/Sponsored (limited number available): if you are unable to offer monetary compensation, this tier is for you. This tier prioritizes low-income Black, Indigenous, People of Color, trans, queer, gender marginalized, and disabled folks. People who are financially able are welcome to contribute sponsorships to support this tier.

Pay What You Can (limited number available): if paying the suggested contribution will create financial strain for you but you are able to offer some monetary compensation, this tier is for you. This tier ranges from $10-$99.

Suggested Contribution: if you’re able to offer the suggested contribution without financial stress, this tier is for you. The suggested contribution for this class is $100.

Exceeding Suggested Contribution: if you’re able to offer more than the suggested contribution and are moved to do so, this will go towards providing more spots for folks who are not able to contribute monetarily.

My gratitude and appreciation for your reciprocity and valuing of labor.
